"Maintenance is mandatory for teeth - nothing lasts unless it is maintained. This mean BOTH by yourself and by a hygienist - If you don't maintain you are really wasting your time. Avoid disappointment and visit the hygienist."

"Make freinds with a hygienist. Team-based dentistry has the best outcomes. Hygienists are really the ones who keep everything going by both cleaning and maintaining your mouth and helping you do the same. Dentists advise, repair and improve."

You almost never need to make short term treatment decisions. Think long term and stage out treatment for affordability.

We only work for you, NOT not any health funds. This means we can use the best treatments and materials for your safety. In Australia, dentistry attracts a "benefit" not insurance.

Currently, we are reccommending HCF which is still a not-for-profit health fund and acheived the Health Omnbudsman health fund of the year.

They have a sensible preventive focus for dentistry and currently do not try to interfere in treatment planning for their subscribers but leave it to the clinicians.

For us and our patients we found that in all good conscience, we just cannot provide the quality of care or to hire quality staff if we signed up to work for a health fund. This being the case we only do quality (over quantity) and have the best staff, materials, equipments and facilities, but in reality turns out to be more cost effective anyway for our patients.

You want YOUR dental team to prevent and conserve and go for the best long term outcome for you. You don't want them to have to hire low cost and low skilled staff, be compelled to use the cheapest materials, look to do quotas or do without the right widget because they can afford it. Nor do you want them to have to do treatment because they need the money.
